 Riccardo Fenici, MD, PhD


Dr. Riccardo Fenici is specialist in Cardiology and in Vascular Surgery.

He is Associate Professor of Cardiology and Director of the Clinical Physiology - Biomagnetism Clinical Research Center, at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart (UCSC) in Rome (Italy).

His research extends in Clinical Electrophysiology, Monophasic Action Potential recording, Computer ECG Analysis, High Resolution ECG, Clinical and Experimental  Magnetocardiography, Magnetic Cardiac Mapping and Multimodal Cardiac Imaging of cardiac electrophysiology for non-invasive preoperative localization of arrhythmogenic substrates, Magnetocardiographic detection of myocardial ischemia. He has also studied risk assessment in WPW patients, Autoimmunity against β-adrenoceptors in patients with silent cardiomyopathy and "idiopathic" arrhythmias, Autonomic Nervous System and Heart Rate Variability. Police Stress.

Since 1979, as Consultant Cardiologist for Magnetocardiography and Electrophysiology at the Italian National Research Council (CNR), Consultant Cardiologist at the PTB, Institute of Berlin (D), Consultant cardiologist for Clinical Magnetocardiography within US National  Mesuron Inc. Foundation Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) project [Phase II], has deeply contributed to the development and progress of clinical Magnetocardiography.

Has been national coordinator of three strategic national projects of the Italian Ministry of University and Research  on “Clinical Validation of Magnetocardiography for the electroanatomical imaging of cardiac arrhythmias” granting the development, in collaboration with CardioMag Inc., of the first 36-channel system for unshielded Magnetocardiography in a cardiac catheterization laboratory, installed at the Clinical Physiology - Biomagnetism Clinical Research Center of the Catholic University of Rome, in 2002.

Is inventor of the "Biomagnetically Guided Method For Catheter Ablation Of Cardiac Arrhythmias" and a MCG Mapping Technique under Cardiac Pacing as a calibration method to quantify the accuracy and reliability of MCG functional localization of cardiac sources, [US Patent 5,056,517 (1991)], and of several others patents in the same field: European patent n. 0428 812A1, (1991); Japan Utility Model n. 2554105 released (1997); PCT/IT99/00402 PCT PUB.NO. WO00/33734 PCT PUB. (2000); US Patent 6,527,724, (2003); Australian Patent: # 766302 (2004); “Catheter guidance by magnetocardiographic mapping” Eur. Patent Application 99 959 681.0 – 2305 (2007).

Dr. Fenici is also the founder and local coordinator of the Doctorate school in “New Advanced Technologies for Clinical Physiology and Multimodal Cardiac Imaging”, at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart.

Has been invited visiting scientist at the PTB, Institute of Berlin (D), and at the Helsinki University of Technology and Helsinki University Central Hospital, University, for research in Cardiomagnetism, within the BIRCH Program of the European Community. Has been invited lecturer at the Fysisk Institut of Danemarks Tekniske Universitetet; at the PTI Akademie der Wissenschaften der DDR and at the Department of Physics, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Dr. Fenici has authored more than 150 scientific publications in peer-review journals,  more than  50 of them on Clinical and Experimental Magnetocardiography.

Aleksey Bakharev,

Senior Engineer, (presently consultant) Mesuron Inc. Product Development, Technical Writer

Lab Manager of Test Engineering Lab at PepsiCo R&D department. Expert Matlab and LabView programming, specifically in devices control and processes simulation. Leads a team of technicians and Test Engineers to evaluate beverage equipment innovation at PepsiCo. Aleksey has experience with flow simulations, CAD diagrams as well as working cross functionally in complex organization.

Aleksey had an extensive experience  in MCG software development, specifically in MCG devices control, MCG date acquisition and MCG data analysis.




Donatella Brisinda MD, PhD

 Dr. Donatella Brisinda, Board certified specialist in Internal Medicine with more than 15 year of experience in Cardiology and clinical electrophysiology, has got her European Ph.D. in “New advanced technologies in Clinical Physiology and Multimodal Cardiac Imaging” and a second level Master in “Clinical Electrophysiology and Cardiac pacing” at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart (UCSC) in Rome.

She is Medical Director (level 1), Assistant professor of Internal Medicine and Vice Director of the Clinical Physiology - Biomagnetism Clinical Research Center at UCSC.

Her research work extends in Clinical and Experimental Magnetocardiography, Magnetic Cardiac Mapping and Multimodal Cardiac Imaging, Magnetocardiographic detection of myocardial ischemia, Risk assessment in WPW patients, Atrial Fibrillation, Autoimmunity, Autonomic Nervous System assessment in movement disorders, Heart Rate Variability and Police Stress. She has also participated as clinical investigator in the “ARISTOTLE Trial”

She is Member of the European Society of Cardiology, of European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), of the “International Society of Electrocardiology” and of The Society for Police an Criminal Psychology.

Dr. Brisinda has been invited speakers in international conferences on Biomagnetism, Cardiology and Police Psychology and is author or co-author of more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals.




Yuri Polyakov, PhD


Dr. Polyakov is a Senior Research Scientist at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1983 from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, one of the world’s leading universities in the field of experimental physics. He is the author of more than 25 publications in scientific journals, 14 conference proceedings and 3 patents. During his 25 years as an experimental physicist and engineer, Dr. Polyakov has been a principle developer of various sophisticated scientific methods and devices in the fields of semiconductor  Mesuron Inc., superconductor electronics, laser-optical diagnostics of biological objects, spectroscopy of atmospheric gases and super sensitive magnetic measurements. Since 1997 he has also been the owner of a company Research & Development Inc. dedicated to the development of electronic devices used in unique scientific and industrial applications. One of his products, a multi-channel measurement setup for the screening of superconductor chips, is used as the standard test equipment in the leading fabrication facilities worldwide.

Michael Gurvitch, PhD


Dr. Gurvitch is a tenured professor of physics at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. Prior to joining the SUNY in 1990, Dr. Gurvitch was a scientist at the AT&T Bell Labs.

He has authored and co-authored over 100 publications and is well known for his expertise in metal physics and superconductivity.







Maria Gutman, MBA

Mrs. Gutman has over 10 years of working experience in Fortune 500 companies. She held various roles in sales and communications before taking on a position with General Electric Company as part of the Human Resources Department. While at General Electric she worked in A&D, training, leadership program strategy, brand management, compliance and recruitment process development roles before moving on to Harman International. At Harman she led talent management strategy globally this included talent acquisition, performance management, retention, mentoring, coaching, technology systems and succession planning strategies. Mrs. Gutman holds a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree (Cum Laude) in Marketing and Management from Siena College and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree with honors as well as a Post Graduate Certification in Human Resources from Union College. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Organizational and Industrial Psychology from Capella University. 




Svetlana Bakhareva, MS - VP of Finance, Controller and Treasurer

Mrs. Bakhareva has over 11 years of experience managing all financial aspects of large and small companies. She graduated from one of prestigious technology institutes in Russia, Moscow with a Masters degree in Technology Engineering. Mrs. Bakhareva completed, with high honors, an international accounting and financial management university program in Moscow. She has extensive experience working as a Financial Director in numbers of the Russian companies. She has also worked for over 8 years as a Production Manager in CardioMag Imaging Incorporated, overseeing the manufacturing of one of the most unique and complicated FDA approved medical devices known as SQUIDs based Magnetometers utilized for MagnetoCardioGraphy (MCG).
